A patchy image. Based on an old life class drawing. It is difficult to create a convincing feel for natural light when it isn't in front of you. I have never tried oil painting in the open air. The thought of all the tubes and solvents scares me off. |

One of the few oil "knife" paintings I have done. Good strong composition but the colours are a bit muddied. A powerful, fast way to paint. Quite expensive to as it uses a great deal of paint. |

This is another knife painting which hangs in our living room. I offered this for sale last summer and nobody bought it. They will regret it one day. "Do you know, I could have bought an original JEGS once, for half a florin, but that were more than a year's wages in those days" etc. etc. |
